Technical Instructional Designer

Summary

We are expanding our team of Technical Instructional Designers to support the design and development of vocational blended learning solutions, which include eLearning, XR, ILT, labs, and OJT. We focus on developing competency-based curricula that adhere to the core principles of adult learning, ensuring the Knowledge Experience complies to the style guide, and is presented with one voice. Our Instructional Designers are responsible for updating, maintaining, designing, and developing educational tools, templates, and demonstrations. This role interacts with multimedia specialists and may be required to help with additional development of graphical, eLearning, and other digital education materials.

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Develop, repurpose, edit, and proof curriculum and content.
  • Communicate with Subject Matter Experts to capture content for the apprenticeship programs.
  • Participate in the development of eLearning templates, storyboards, ILT materials, OJT materials, and apprenticeship documentation.
  • Assist in the development of Blended Learning applications.
  • Assist others as needed in the design and development of apprenticeship projects.
  • Work with Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Assist in quality control of deliverables required by the apprenticeship programs.
  • Ensure a high standard of client service.
  • Develop, maintain, and nourish the client relationship.

Here’s What You Need

  • Certificate or Degree in Business Communication, Instructional Design, or Technical Communication, or related fields
  • In lieu of a certificate or degree, experience in transportation, vocational trades, engineering, or related writing experience
  • At least two years’ experience in the learning, communications, or multimedia fields
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of design and development methodologies for eLearning courses, ILT, OJT, simulations, and demos
  • Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)

  • Multiple positions are available
  • These are primarily contract roles, with the possibility of extension or full time employment
