Project Manager

Summary

An Xpan Project Manager is responsible for ensuring Xpan’s digital knowledge solutions–which meet and exceed client objectives–are delivered on-time and on-budget according to defined scope, time, and cost parameters. The Project Manager plans, schedules and controls all project activities, applying technical, theoretical and managerial skills to satisfy project requirements, while building positive professional relationships.

The primary client touch-point, the Project Manager is responsible for client satisfaction in Xpan’s service delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages account relationship with select client organization(s)
  • Responsible for the success and satisfaction of the individual client relationships
  • Grows the client relationship in terms of revenue generated and account profitability
  • Responsible for client satisfaction, while targeting 100% client reference-ability
  • Creates opportunities for deeper collaboration and interaction and reinforces the client’s status as an innovative participant in the creation of cutting-edge solutions
  • Serves as the Xpan conduit and internal champion for client’s strategic business initiatives
  • Promotes high standards of professionalism, integrity and leadership throughout the life of projects by providing support and ongoing guidance to members of the project team
  • Has a point of view on industry trends, best practices and solutions
  • Oversees the creation, development and execution of detailed project proposals and statements of work with the support of core team members
  • Proactively establishes, manages and communicates project parameters, scope and expectation
  • Create and maintain a project schedule, which defines activities, sequence, dependencies, work effort, duration and associated resource requirements
  • Forecast, track and manage project budgets
  • Define, negotiate, communicate, implement and monitor quality standards on all project deliverables
  • Manage client and internal team performance and dynamics as appropriate, and
  • Identify, analyze, prioritize, mitigate and communicate project risks

Skills and Expertise

  • 3+ years of Project Management and/or Account, Product or Program Management
  • Experience in an eLearning, Internet, Technology or, Software Development discipline considered an asset
  • Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills, especially in situations involving consensus and team building with strong problem solving skills related to program and account management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project and business management principles, methods and techniques
  • Demonstrated ability to pay persistent attention to detail, while maintaining an overall view of the situation
  • Demonstrated skills in managing fiduciary relationships including pricing, margins, discounting, cost factors, etc
  • Relationship management skills; demonstrated skills in negotiation and leadership
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications, including presentation skills
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple simultaneous projects involving cross-functional product teams within budgetary and schedule constraints
  • Demonstrated experience directing internal and client teams involved in multiple activities
  • Ability to strategically and tactically organize and structure activities
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in mediation, negotiation, argumentation and presentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Intermediate skills in Microsoft Project and Office
  • Demonstrated aptitude to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies, and
  • Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
